%X To solve the conflict between the huge data of the 3D mesh and the power of the graphics engines and the limit of the network bandwidth,3D mesh compression technique provides a series of approaches.This paper introduces and compares the 3D mesh compression technologies developed over the last decade,classifying it into two schemes: single-rate and progressive,and proposing two cues:topology-driven and geometry-driven.Finally,we probe into the trends in 3D mesh compression.
