Under the background of the development of the tool for reverse engineering analysis named XDRE,methods for discovering interaction patterns, recovering interaction levels in sequence diagrams and design pattern detection arc present respectively. With these methods, abstraction of interactive messages in sequence diagrams can be performed. Furthermore, through the extendibility of Rational Rose, the abstract methods are implemented and seamlessly integrated into Rose development environment. %K UML
