%X This article presents a lightweight directory service based on Web Services, with the combination of checkpointing algorithm, SOAP protocol, and multi-machine-based deployment. In addition, the service migration mechanism is also designed to protect directory service itself. This directory service has the attractive availability while keep the security and reliability.
