%X In this paper, taking advantages of RS and GIS technology, we firstly retrieved the urban surface temperature(LST) in Beijing from Landsat TM thermal-infrared data using the single-window algorithm. Then we analyzed the relationship between Urban Heat Island(UHI) effect and Urban Land Use and Land Cover Change(LUCC) character. This work provides some scientific basis for the reduction of UHI effect in Beijing.
