%X In order to efficiently manage temporal objects in multimedia database, especially to improve the performance of time retrieval, this paper presents an index mechanism based on time intervals. This kind of temporal index can support quick search of temporal objects in an arbitrary time interval, support many kinds of temporal relation operators, and support many time aggregation functions and temporal JOIN operations.
