%X A novel method of generating multiresolution pyramids is presented. Basing on the facet model, it achieves filtering directly in 2 dimension space by using 2 dimension polynomial to approximate the intensity function of images. The method is different from the ones existing, in which the 2 dimension filters areapproximated by two 1 dimension filters. Comparing with the existing methods, the experiment results show that the method has the advantage of less information energy loss.
