%X Due to the 3 components representation of a color image, it's essential that we should not only take into account the spatial and structural redundancies,but also fully exploit the spectral correlations present in color image data. In this paper, we present a 3D DCT algorithm for the compression coding of color image, which is based on 3D matrix model. All the color image components are jointly transform compressed and the redundancies are effectively reduced. Simulation results demonstrate good quality reproduction and high compression ratio of this method, which is also simple and convenient.
