%X Many Chinese mycologists are involved in basic and applied studies of different entomopathogenic fungi and have been making great achievements. In this special issue on entomopathogenic fungi, one review and different research papers were published including the resource investigations, gene cloning and the analysis of bioactive metabolites of different entomopathogenic fungi. To improve the application efficacies of mycoinsecticides and medicinal insect fungi, further studies are still required to investigate the virulence gene functions and molecular interactions between fungi and insects etc.
