%X Observations were made of the martensite formation and distribution in industrial medium carbon steeland medium carbon alloyedsteel. Thelath martensitesdistribute mainlyin grains and the thin plate martensite forms preferentially along grain boundaries and inducesmartensiteformation in grain.
