%X A new hyphomycete species from Shaanxi,Sporothrix ankangansis M.Z.Fan,C.Guo et T.Y.Zhang,is described and illustrated in this paper.It is charac- terised by its primary,conidia bearing secondary conidia holoblastically.The fungus can be easily distinquished from allied species,S.fung orum de Hoog et de Vries,by its short clavate or long ellipsoidal conidia and from S.catenata de Hoog et Constantinescu by its very short conidial chains (mostly 2,rarely 3 conidia). The holotype specimen and dried cultures are deposited in the Entomogenous Fungus Her- barium of Northwestern College of Forestry (EFHNCF).
