%X It should be considered to support the multi-scale property when displaying map and the limited computational resource of devices when designing the electronic map application on embedded devices. The conventional spatial index does not support these two features. A new spatial index called MSCR-tree (Multi-Scale Compressed Hilbert R-tree) was proposed in this paper.
