%X X.509 digital certificate provides a basic means for mutual authentication between the subscriber station (SS) and base station (BS) in WiMax network. X.509 digital certificate was improved by Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) algorithm. Its improving principle and implementation scheme were proposed. The performance analysis shows that the working mechanism of primitive X.509 digital certificate is maintained, moreover, the security of mutual authentication in IEEE802.16e is guaranteed.
