%X To transform control system based on fieldbus to distributed control system based on Ethernet without changing the current network architecture, a low-cost embedded CAN-Ethernet Gateway was designed. The device was based on an ARM architecture microcontroller STR912FW44. STR912FW44, ARM966E-STM core, integrated Ethernet and CAN bus controller. Embedded TCP/IP protocol was used to implement the communication between STR912FW44 and devices in Ethernet. It can make the computer network based on TCP/IP protocol communicate with the field network based on the CAN Bus protocol. Test results show that the device, featuring with redundant capability, can complete the communication between nodes in the fieldbus and transmit data between fieldbus and Ethernet.
