%X In this paper,a new algorithm named SOMNET was presented based on the theoretical foundation of Self-organizing Feature Map algorithm.Using Artificial Neural Network,SOMNET algorithm realizes similar-featured Chinese characters clustering and Chinese character components clustering.The display effect of Chinese characters and their components was analyzed,and the application of SOM model was described from multiple points of view.The research outcome is expected to be helpful to Chinese character cognition and teaching of foreign students' second language acquisition.
