%X A new method was proposed for constructing fractal interpolation surfaces through points sampled on rectangular lattices. The proposed algorithm guaranteed the boundary continuity and canceled symmetry restriction on the initial data set. The constructed surface inherited the main features from the original data set as a whole and kept the self-similar trait of fractal in part. Experiment results show that the method is useful for three-dimensional (3D) fractal interpolation.
