%X MultiProtocol Label Switch (MPLS) has become key IP technology. The challenges of MPLS traffic engineering technology were analyzed. The progress of the research about MPLS traffic engineering was summarized, and classified into four kinds of methods. A functional model of MPLS traffic engineering was proposed. Finally, some personal perspectives and suggestions were proposed.
