%X Message Authentication Code(MAC) for data authentication has been widely applied in traditional wired and wireless networks.But MACs generated by the traditional algorithms are usually too long to be used in sensor networks.This paper proposed a new MAC algorithm which fit well the sensor networks.The algorithm is efficiently length-reduced compared with the traditional ones.It uses bitwise operation and shift logical for data substitution,and generates a length-fixed MAC.Extensive analyses and simulations show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently reduce the communication overhead with high security.
