%X A new method for texture image segmentation was proposed,and it had two advantages compared to Geodesic models.First,due to using Gabor wavelet to extract texture features,texture image can be segmented properly.Second,without re-initialization,the proposed method can avoid the additional computation problems due to the re-initialization of signal distance function.The segmentation tests for synthetic and natural texture images prove the proposed segmentation method is more accurate and faster compared to geodesic active contour models.
