Binary translation offers solutions for automatically converting executable code to run on new architectures. The library functions recognizing technique in I2A binary translator was introduced. Especially a new approach of library function recognizing problem was given. It is a simple and practical method to recognizing library functions based on the calling conventions of IA-64 architecture and observation of the program instance. It is proved to be effective by the I2A translation system. %K IA-64
