Firstly, it performed a volume line integral convolution to acquire a spatial-correlated texture; secondly, filtered the resulting texture with a fractional differential filter, resulting in high intensity contrast among the streamlines; thirdly, employed a texture-based volume rendering algorithm to depict the 3D vector field, and through the designing of the transfer function to see the inner structure of the vector field. The experiments show that this method enhances the flow line effectively, and makes the flow lines smoother, and it is easy to eliminate the visual clutter. %K 3D vector field %K fractional differential %K line integral convolution(LIC) %K volume render %K transfer function
