%X The traditional Canny edge detection algorithm exists the defect losing details of the edge, so this paper proposed an improved Canny edge detection algorithm. The algorithm used adaptive filter to eliminate the noise. It calculated preserving the more edge information while filtering the noise, the thresholds of Canny algorithm automatically according to the mean of variance and gray-scale. The results demonstrate that the method not only can detect more detail of the edge, but also can have a strong self-adaptability.
