%X Melody extraction technique is one of the key techniques for content-based music information retrieval technique. Present research work for melody extraction technique is introduced in two categories, one of witch is symbolic presented music file while the other is waveform presented music file. Algorithms on them are concluded separately, features of algorithms are analyzed, future tendency of this field is explained.
