In allusion to the defect of existing resource library on recall and precision of resource retrieval, this article introduces the semantic characteristic into the construction of e-learning resource library model, proposes an e-learning resource library model based on ontology describing which named LMOD. LMOD describes the resources normative by building e-learning resource library ontology and generating correlative Semantic Metadata, organizes the resources in machine-understandable way, and standardizes user query by utilizing the Semantics View. On this basis, LMOD achieves the semantic-based query in order to effectively address the problems such as ambiguous interpretation and synonym recognition in resource retrieval. The model can overcome the defect of existing resource library building scheme, enhance the service efficiency and availability of e-learning resource library. %K e-learning %K resource library %K semantics %K ontology %K metadata %K OWL
