%X This paper presented a way supported by programmable graphics hardware to render water in real time. The rende ring process included two stages: water surface modeling and illumination simulation. It took advantage of the vertex texture to model the water surface and simulated the reflection, refraction with environment texture mapping and texture mapping. The experiment proves that it can improve the efficiency of rendering.
