傅彦 %A 罗引 %A 宋井宽b %J 计算机应用研究 %D 2009 %I %X In the upcoming video coding standard H.264/AVC, motion estimation(ME) is allowed to use seven kinds of block sizes to improve the rate-distortion performance. This new feature has achieved significant coding gain compared to coding a macro block(MB) using fixed block size. However, ME is computational intensive with complexity increasing linearly to the number of allowed block sizes. This paper proposed a fast inter-prediction mode decision with block complexity information. The analysis results show that the speed improvement of the proposed algorithm over the primitive algorithm is about 17% to 24% times but with little quality degradation. %K H %K 264 %K mode decision %K motion estimation %K block complexity
