%X This paper proposed a new method of acquiring fingerprint local ridge orientation and local ridge frequency, based on character of fingerprint in frequency domain. It not only acquired the local ridge orientation and local ridge frequency accurately and fast, but also gave adaptive for different fingerprint styles. By using the newly improved algorithm,experiment results show that an efficient enhancement can be achieved in terms of both computation and accuracy in poor quality fingerprint images.
