%X Base on shape signature and polygon approximation, this paper presented a fast template matching approach-template matching based on image edge abstract (TMIEA). TEIEA was implemented as following three steps: adopted polygon to approximate continuous edges of original image; transformed each edge of polygon to AP with weight and direction, then IEA, which was invariant to resize, rotate and translate,was built on the set of anchor points; ran template matching withIEA. Several tests were performed and the results proved that the presented approach has lower computation cost and less sensitivity to noise.
