%X It was widely applied in iris recognition that using Gabor filter coded iris feature. The key of this method was designing the Gabor filter parameters. It directly affect accuracy. This paper studied the effect of the parameters of Gabor filter in iris feature extraction, proposed a measure for parameters designing. This approach related the parameters one to other, then selected them basis of FFT and their relation. Applied the Gabor filters designed by this method to iris feature extraction, experimental results show that it can extract effectively the characteristics of iris texture for iris recognition and has high accuracy.
