%X Intelligent Tutoring System(ITS) has been one of the focuses of research in the domain of CAI.ITS is an open man-machine conversation tutoring system,which Absorbs many technologies of artificial intelligence and can teach students in accordance with their aptitude.So the learners study more actively than before and ITS helps the learners develop their intelligence and abilities.After the concept and history of ITS are introduced in this article,new developments in its architecture,knowledge representation and management are emphasized,which include MAS,Web,data mining,knowledge management,ontology,grid applied to ITS.In the end,the writers believe ITS has a pleasant prospect and hope this article will help the development of ITS.
