%X NAS and SAN are two of the most important technologies of network storage. Most articles concerned with NAS and SAN mainly draw a comparison between them in their applications. Examines their essential characteristics technically and answers why the combination of NAS and SAN is necessary. Symmetrical and Asymmetrical combination architectures are then introduced. At the last of this paper the real meaning of the combination of NAS and SAN are considered.
