%X To solve the problem of a large amount of useless accumulations yielded by random sampling when randomized Hough transform (RHT) is used to detect circles in complex images,an improved RHT is proposed. It uses gradient direction information to determine whether the parameter should be accumulated or not. In comparison with the basic RHT, the problem of useless accumulations is well solved and our method has higher speed,smaller storage and better detection performance.
