%X IPSec protocol provides security services at IP layer by encrypting and authenticating data packets while being transported in Internet. A system is secure on an open Linux system. The paper puts forward a designing scheme of VPN security network gateway based on IPSec and Linux. And it expatiates a designing principle, function, security mechanism and procedure of implementing. The performance of the security network gateway is analyzed finally.
