%X TETRA and GSM are standards for mobile telecommunications produced by ETSI. TETRA standard is typically designed for the professional mobile radio market, and GSM is the second generation mobile systems for public services. The security of the two systems are based on the encryption mechanism, and the security protocol are based on the safe services of secrecy sharing, privacy service, authentication and secrecy keeping. End-to-End encryption is offered by TETRA to protect data during the entire transmission. In this paper, security features and mechanisms of the two groups are analyzed and com- pared.
