%X This paper surveys several mobility technologies based on IP networks. These technologies are organized into two categories: IP layer mobility technologies and end-to-end mobility technologies. For each mobility technology, the main technical characteristics are outlined, the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. The objective of this paper is to contribute to the overall understanding of the technologies available for constructing the forthcoming Internet mobility infrastructure.
