%X This article elaborated the extracting process of target object boundary in the image using the chain code and introduced the principle and steps of the line segment table method which based on the chain code technology calculating the area of enclosed area. It proposed a new area computing method in the foundation of chain code technology and compared the two area calculating methods through the experiments. The result indicates that the new method has the characteristics which the design concept simple and easy to realize.
