%X Technology trend of video supervision is discussed.A new networked real-time digital video supervisory system DVSS is detailed This system is composed of some field units and a supervisory center within a broadband LAN of multilevel star-type topology.The specially designed field units(digital video servers),running embedded operating system VxWorks,collect various signals and output control signals.TCP/IP is selected for network communication.Video/Audio signals are encoded in the format of MPEG-4.A network server and several monitoring terminals(PCs)constitute the supervisory center which performs mass display and overall information management.Hardware structure and software functions of DVSS are introduced.The procedure of video signal processing is also illustrated.
