%X Based on the requirement analysis of hardware firewall,the paper focuses on the idea of design of hardware firewall based on IXP2800 network processor.The design of hardware and software of the IXP2800 firewall is introduced in detail,and analyses and evaluation about the performance of the hardware is made at the end of the paper.
