%X The author introduces the common developing techniques of WebGIS and analyses the system and structure of Java-based WebGIS.Devoloping techniques of Java-based WebGIS is discussed including Java Applet executed on the client- end,Java servlet executed on the Web server,and access to database by JDBC.Finally,the characters and problems of Java-based WebGIS are analyzed briefly.
