The macroscopic subdivision of grains with different orientations was characterized in detail by using EBSP technique. It is found that the macroscopic subdivision patterns of different oriented grains are different. A model based on dislocation slip was used to analyze the observed macroscopic subdivision patterns. %K columnar grain Al %K cold rolling %K EBSP %K macroscopic subdivision %K modelling
