It is revealed that the microstructures of steel and frequency have considerable influence on the corrosion fatigue strength. The relation between crack closure effect and electroche- mical conditions is discussed. The corrosion fatigue mechanisms, which consider the effect of hydrogen embrittlement and anode dissolution respectively, are pro- posed.
