%X The residual stress of the coating Ti (CN) on Nb-752 alloy was mea-sured using free bending method to be 2-3 GPa in which the thermal stress amount-ed to 10-20%. An analysis on the coating/substrate interface stress shows that theshear stress at it is about 0.1-0.2 GPa. The damage mode of the coating underexternal loading was proposed in terms of the amount and the direction of loading.
