%X Taking a new O3-BAC process, ozone-aerated BAC filter-sand filter, an experiment on the effect of BAC filter with different type of activated carbon was carried out to make a comparison of the treatment effect among the filters with 4 mm broken carbon,4 mm cylindrical carbon and 1.5 mm cylindrical carbon as media respectively. The result shows that all the filters had little effect on removing turbidity, while BAC filter with 1.5 mm cylindrical carbon as filter media had better efficiency of removing organic matters and NH3-N than the others in general, however, the head loss was a little higher. Enlarging the cylindrical carbon diameter properly can lower the head loss and make it more stable.
