%X In order to study the distribution and variation characteristics of wastewater quality in aeration tanks, wastewater quality were measured and analyzed in field. Multi-parameter water quality testing instruments YSI6600V2 was employed in the CAS process of phase 1 project, and in the aeration tanks of AOE process of phase 2 project at Sanwayao Wastewater Treatment Plant. The measured parameters include DO, NH3-N, NO3--N, pH, chloride compounds, and temperature. Wastewater quality changes within the aeration tank were given by analyzing these data, and a comparison between the CAS process and the AOE process was conducted. The results show that: (1) dissolved oxygen along the depth direction was shown to be a certain distribution characteristics, dissolved oxygen increases with the increase of the depth in CAS process. Dissolved oxygen decreases with the increase of depth in AOE process; (2) ammonia nitrogen removal rate in the O District is 97.64% in AOE, significantly higher than that of CAS process, which is 41.76%; (3) adjusting the discharge of oxygen in the longitudinal direction is an effective way of reducing energy consumption and guaranteeing water quality of effluent based on the measurement results of dissolved oxygen and theoretical demand curve of dissolved oxygen.
