%X According to the component characters of the municipal solid waste(MSW)in Chongqing, the MSW sample was confected and the organic matter degradation test was carried out. In terms of the weight change to calculate the landfill gas production and build the generation rate model with the degradation reaction. The results show that the weight decreases along with the time, through the data fitting, the weight change presents trend of exponential attenuation. The gas production rate increases rapidly in the initial stage, when it reaches the peak value, the rate decreases gradually. Using the model to calculate the gas production rate, the results approximate with real data, this shows that the model is credible.
