%X To study the effect of adding excessive lime (calcium oxide) on the moisture content and organic matter content in sludge, the dewater experiment of sludge by adding excessive calcium oxide and the thermogravimetric experiment of dried dewater sludge were conducted. The moisture content of mixture of sludge and calcium oxide was detected, and the effects of calcium oxide amount on the organic matter content of in dried dewater sludge were studied. The dewater experiment shows that the moisture content of dewater sludge reduces quickly with the increasing of the mass ratio of calcium oxide to sludge, and the sludge is completely dehydrated at the mass ratio of 1.5. The dried dewater sludge with excessive calcium oxide is uniform in particle size, and can be used as the cement raw material. The thermogravimetric experimental results show that the weight loss percentage of unit dried dewater sludge decreases with the increase of the ratio of calcium oxide to sludge, which indicates that calcium oxide is of benefit to releasing and removal of organic matters from sludge and realizing the stabilization of sludge.
