%X A laboratory-scale fixed-bed reactor system was used to screen some sorbents (natural vermiculite, mordenite, bentonite and chemically modified sorbents) for their capability to remove elemental mercury from flue gas. The characterization of all sorbents was analyzed by the accelerated surface area porosity. Conclusively, the temperature almost had no effect on adsorption capacity of natural vermiculite, mordenite and bentonite. Natural sorbents had lower adsorption capacity. Appropriately increasing the chemically modified adsorption temperature improves the mercury removal, it suggests that their main sorption mechanism should be chemisorptions. The activity comment CeO2 takes up a majority of surface area and porosity of mordenite, and it may play a key role. However, the adsorption capability of mordenite almost has no change after CuO was modified.
