Chemical analysis and surface morphology analysis were used to evaluate the effects of different solutions on the biofilm MBAC and on removing H2S in the bio-trickling filter. Results showed that the number of basic functional groups, equilibrium moisture content and iodine adsorption of the MBAC treated by 10%NaOH solution increased by 0.614 mmol/L, 6.08% and 29.6 mL/g, respectively. Changes on physical and chemical properties are more beneficial for the biological MBAC to remove H2S. Comparing performances of the five modified methods on the biodegradation of H2S, the BAC treated by NaOH solution has a better removal rate, higher than 93.4%, under the conditions of H2S inlet concentration of 150~4 500 mg/m3, spray rate of 0.2 L/h, pH of 6.5~7.5, and the gas retention time of 66 s. %K acid and alkaline solution %K modification %K bamboo activated carbon %K hydrogen sulfide
