%X To test the feasibility of bioaugmentation in emergent treatment of aniline pollution accident, the method of bioaugmentation which based on Bacterium AN-P1 adding to the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) was researched. Simulative aniline leak accident happened in a chemical industrial area. The results show that the enhanced SBR system has the ability to degrade 500 mg/L aniline (and below), and the removal rates of aniline and chemical oxygen demand (COD) are over 96.3% and 81.3%, respectively. Start-up time is about 3~4 cycles (2 days). The study of aeration flux reveals that the optimal condition is 0.5 m3/h. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is induced in enhanced SBR, while is inhibited in the control group. The SOD activity in strengthen system is about 468 times of the control one. The study indicates that enhance SBR system can eliminated the superoxide anion radical oxidative stress which causes by aniline degradation.
