The results indicated that the removal rates of COD and NH+4-N at SRT=17 d were higher than that at SRT=8 d,27 d, 37 d and 42 d in both log and declining growth stages. Accordingly, it suggested that SRT had a significant effect on the sludge activity of the MBR system, and the sludge activity, yield and permeate flux of membrane should be taken into account while determining the SRT of membrane bioreactor %K SRT %K organic substrate %K NH 4-N %K removal rate
