%X This paper aims to study the influence of sludge hardened on the forced ventilation and fermentation process in static aerobic-type sludge fermentation, in order to reduce ventilation energy. Based on theoretical research, pressure drop was identified to be the determinant of forced ventilation.The ventilation volume and shearing strength of the sludge stack in different fermentation phases and forced ventilation conditions were obtained through experiments. The forming rule of sludge hardened was analyzed; its influence on ventilation was verified through calculation, according to which the time point for ventilation improvement was proposed. The influence of the power changes of air-blower based on its frequency conversion control on forced ventilation was studied. The proposed ventilation solution adopted the frequency conversion in different fermentation phases, which could effectively control the sludge temperature and ventilation volume.
